Book Club
The Church Book Club meets once a month, usually on a Wednesday evening, to discuss current or classic book selections, and to enjoy good company. The group may meet at the church, or at a member's home, or at another location in town. New members are always welcome! Please check the monthly calendar, or call the church office, for this month's date and time, as well as the name of the current book selection. The books are often spiritual in nature, but not necessarily. Sometimes we will pick books that follow a particular theme, such as "life everlasting," for several consecutive months. Even if you don't have time to read the book, please come for the conversation and fellowship, and you'll probably leave the gathering eager to read this month's book as well as the next! Some of our past selections have included The Secret Life of Bees, Cry the Beloved Country, The Piano Tuner, East of Eden, For One More Day, A Grief Observed, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings and Many Lives, Many Masters.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
This group gathers monthly, to knit or crochet together as they lovingly and prayerfully create prayer shawls. The shawls are given, along with the blessings and prayers of the congregation, as a way to reach out to friends in the church and beyond, who are healing, grieving, or in need of comfort, love and support. Many of the shawls are given to patients at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Prayer shawls are also given in times of joy; such as, to celebrate a birth or other life passage. All are welcome to join this group anytime; check the calendar page for the next meeting date, or call the church office at 663-1789. If you would like to knit or crochet a prayer shawl at home, materials can be provided. Directions for many different shawl styles can be found on the Internet; check our links page for an address.
"He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge." ~ Psalm 91:4
Scrapbooking Group
This group meets to work on family scrapbooks and photo albums together, while sharing scrapbooking ideas and enjoying the fellowship and company of other church friends who share this interesting hobby.  Meetings are open to all; bring your photos and materials, and come join in the fun.  This group usually meets on Friday evenings once or twice a month.  Please check the current calendar in the Kerygma, or call the church office at 663-1789, to learn the next scheduled date.
Wednesday Eves
The Wednesday Eves have been an active group at the Congregational Church in Killingworth for over 50 years. The ladies of the Wednesday Eves meet on the fourth Wednesday of each month, September through June, at 1:30 pm in the Parish Hall. New members are always welcome. The Wednesday Eves support the church financially and spiritually in many ways: they hold Spring and Fall Rummage Sales every year, organize the White Elephant Sale each summer at the church fair, bake for special events, often serve at funerals and other receptions held in the church hall, and are always willing to lend a hand.
Women's Fellowship
The Women's Fellowship Group meets every Tuesday evening from 7:30 to 9:00, at different members' homes and other various locations in town. This is a wonderful evening of visiting, talking, sharing and laughter. The group provides a great opportunity to develop new friendships and enjoy the company of other women, on a regular basis or a casual one. Any woman is welcome to come and enjoy! This is a group that exists just for the pleasure of being together. Come visit anytime! Please call the church office at 663-1789 for more information or to find out the week's meeting location.
