Where faith and community come together

GIVING

Compassion in Action

Our mission doesn't end on Sunday. Through local partnerships, food drives, youth programs, disaster relief, and community outreach, we seek to share Christ's love with our neighbors every day.

Serve With Us

Whether you have an hour each month or a heart for ongoing service, there's a place for everyone. Join a mission team, volunteer at an event, or help support one of our outreach ministries.

Making a Difference Together

Every act of kindness—large or small—helps strengthen our community. Together we are building relationships, offering hope, and sharing God's love both locally and beyond.

COMMUNITY CARE MEALS

Eddy House Shelter community meal donations and volunteer info.

One of the ways we live out our faith is by caring for our neighbors in need. Throughout the year, members of our congregation prepare and serve meals for residents at Eddy Shelter on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. This ministry is a simple but meaningful way to share God's love through hospitality, compassion, and service.

We welcome donations of desserts, breads, salads, vegetables, and other side dishes to accompany these monthly meals. Whether you enjoy baking, cooking, or simply want to contribute, every donation helps provide a warm, nourishing meal and reminds our neighbors that they are cared for by their community.

In addition to meals, Eddy Shelter is often in need of everyday essentials that help provide comfort and dignity to those they serve. Donations of twin-size sheets, comforters, blankets, bottled water, personal care items, and grab-and-go snacks such as protein bars, granola bars, fruit cups, nuts, and cheese sticks are always appreciated.

This ministry is also a wonderful opportunity for families to serve together. Children and youth are encouraged to participate by helping collect donations, preparing food, or learning firsthand how small acts of kindness can make a lasting difference in someone's life.

By working together, we help ensure that those experiencing homelessness or hardship are met not only with food and essential supplies but also with compassion, hope, and the reminder that they are valued members of our community.

If you would like to donate food, supplies, or help deliver a meal, please contact Paulie Lally. We invite you to join us as we share Christ's love through service—one meal, one act of kindness, and one neighbor at a time.

COLLECTING FOR FAMILIES

The Haddam/Killingworth CROP Hunger Walk is a community tradition that brings people of all ages together with one shared purpose—to help end hunger, both here at home and around the world. Every step taken and every dollar raised provides hope, nourishment, and support for individuals and families facing food insecurity.

Today, the need is greater than ever. Rising food costs and economic challenges have placed increased pressure on local families, making the work of organizations like the Killingworth Helping Hands Food Pantry, the Haddam Food Bank, and the H-K Backpack Program more important than ever. That's why 25% of every dollar raised stays right here in our local community, directly supporting these vital programs. The remaining 75% helps Church World Service provide hunger relief, disaster response, and sustainable development efforts for vulnerable communities around the globe.

Whether you choose to walk, sponsor a participant, volunteer, or simply spread the word, your involvement makes a real and lasting impact. The CROP Hunger Walk is more than just a walk—it's a powerful reminder that when a community comes together, small acts of generosity can change lives.

Join us as we walk in hope, compassion, and solidarity with our neighbors near and far. Together, we can help ensure that fewer families go hungry and more people experience the dignity, care, and support they deserve.

Helping neighbors

Helping neighbors

Join your neighbors for a morning of community, kindness, and giving back at our annual Killingworth Community Volunteer Day! Whether you can give an hour or the whole morning, your time can brighten someone's entire week.

We'll begin the day together with at the Beechwood Clubhouse meeting up for coffee, donuts, fellowship, and volunteer assignments before heading out in small teams to help neighbors throughout Killingworth with simple outdoor and household tasks. From raking leaves and light yard work to small home projects or simply visiting with someone who could use a friendly smile, every act of kindness makes a difference.

No registration is required—just show up! Bring a willing heart, dress for the weather, and if you'd like, consider bringing either a non-perishable food item for the local food pantry or a bag of individually wrapped Halloween candy to help support the residents of the Beechwood Community in Killingworth.

Come help your community. Give a little. Gain a lot. Because nothing feels better than doing something for someone else. Together, we can make Killingworth an even stronger, more caring place to call home.
